Helping kids find "their thing" is so fun! I don't mean "their thing" that fell under the seat in the car, I mean the activity that makes them come alive! A few months back, my daughter was an actress. She joined a team of young actors and actresses, sound and light techs, directors, and stagehands to overcome a bit of shyness and act for the very first time.
This weekend, I'm honored to help a special group of parents and young actors have this same experience. Northern Starz is the first Minnesota theatre presenting The Penguin Project, a nationally known program for actors and artists with special needs and developmental disabilities. They are joined on stage by a group of peer mentors, and work side-by-side from first rehearsal through final performance. I'm excited to be a part of this, as an official sponsor and photographer. So, to a very special group of young actors and artists, "Thanks for making me feel so special too!"
I've been working with, and supporting our local children's theatre, Northern Starz, for years: photographing headshots, cast photos, and helping to decorate their studio space. You can see the story here: Canvas for a Cause: Northern Starz Childrens' Theatre
